During January 2022, Enfants du Mekong Volunteer and COERR paid visit to the poor children under the Sponsorship Program for poor children, in Sakaew and Surin Provinces to provide spiritual support to those who have been affected by Covid-19 pandemic.

   The situation caused all education institutions to close their onsite teaching but provide online teaching, instead, to enable students to continue their learning.

   Despite the difficult situation, 128 scholars in Sakaew Province and 26 scholars in Surin Province continued to receive monthly sponsprship funds from the program, which has enabled these scholars to spend for their education and living without interuption.

   Although the schools and teachers have to teach remotely while schoolchildren struggle to study online, it is Enfants du Mekong and COERR’s hope that the pandemic is over. It is also our intention to see the children in the border remote provinces to continue their schooling, at kindergarten until Unitversity level, and to keep their dream of furthering their education to reach the better future.
